I find that what I attempt to capture in my photographs, and what I enjoy in other photographers work, is a moment in time that reminds me of the wonders of nature
a sunset, a grand vista, a precious childhood moment, a moment in nature or in history that cannot be captured again, or an imaginative perspective and/or innovative technique that makes the photograph exceptional. Impact!!!
What once could only been seen by the naked eye, or through a telescope or microscope can now be photographed w
ith macro and telescopic lenses and shown on the web to people throughout the world almost instantaneously. The world of photography is rapidly changing, but the subjects remain the same
things that are inspiring.
I, like most others, have rushed out to buy the best 35mm Canon equipment my budget can withstand to hopefully improve the percentage of acceptable shots per roll. But in reality, regardless of what equipment you may have, the ideas are controlled by the photographer alone, and how he/she views and interprets the world and its inhabitants.
Personally, I wait very impatiently to see the results of my efforts. It is akin to unwrapping a gift
sometimes it is exactly what you want -- other times a disappointment. I would imagine that the same euphoria happens in the darkroom when you develop your own film. On occasion, the result it is better than expected and the joy that gives is exhilarating. For me, the use of digital photography would take away half the fun of photography -- the anticipation of picking up those rolls of film and viewing them for the first time. Although I must admit that I do enhance some photographs with Photoshop and print them digitally on my Epson printer.

Although digital has come to the forefront with the speed of lightning and the results are more than adequate, unfortunately the equipment I want is much too expensive and I am willing to wait until the price comes down.
What I would like to say to all photographers, traditional or digital, is look for that awe inspiring scene and keep sharing it with others. It gives us all the challenge to stretch our imaginations when we see the wonderful efforts of others.
